Benefit Concert March 2020 – canceled

Dear Friends,
Although we were very sorry not to share the beautiful music we had planned for our March Benefit Concert, we want to recognize the fine musicians who were on the program. Many thanks for their support and understanding!
Many nonprofits in the area are sharing updated reports, and how they are managing when canceling or postponing events becomes more and more necessary. We have a wonderful community here, and we are grateful you are part of it.
Many thanks for your continued support,
The ESYO Family

Benefit Concert Featured Soloist: Holly Stern, violin

An ESYO alumna, Holly grew up in Eugene and began playing in the Junior Symphony in 6th grade. Since then, she has had a long and active career with the Portland Baroque Orchestra, the Oregon Bach Festival, and the Portland Opera and Ballet Orchestras. She holds a BA from the UO and degrees in violin performance from Oberlin Conservatory and Indiana University. Holly will be playing Kreisler’s arrangement of de Falla’s exciting Danse Espagnol, and the beautiful Meditation from Thais by Massenet.

Four of our top musicians from the Youth Symphony will perform these challenging works!

Julia Daniels, Walton Viola Concerto, Mvmt. #1

Nate Tavakolian, Beethoven Violin Sonata #1, Mvmt. 1

Sophie Phillips-Meadow, Bach Prelude from Suite #2

Caleb Holt – Bourdeau, Premiere Solo for Bassoon

Donations will help us continue to provide scholarships, instruments, and classes, to help build future musicians like these performers.
Special thanks to our concert sponsor!
