This camp is specifically geared toward those who have completed our String Academy 1 after-school program. At Summer String Academy, your child will have a chance to keep playing their violin, viola, cello or bass with two wonderful teachers. There will be large and small group instruction, general music instruction like note-reading and rhythms, and fun games! Plus, this camp is offered TWICE – once in June and once in August. You are welcome to sign up for both and keep the music alive in your family all summer!

This new camp is for those strings players who have had a few years of experience and are ready for some chamber ensemble work. Depending on the number of participants, players will learn and perform in a variety of ensemble configurations. It’s perfect for those who have completed SA2 or are currently in Little Symphony – or any strings player who is currently of middle school age. Also great for strings players who have had two or three years of experience either in orchestra or with private lessons. Dale Bradley is a master at arranging music to suit the players’ needs – giving them challenge while making it a fun and rewarding musical experience!

Joe Ingram, Jazz Instructor extraordinaire, will be back to lead this great camp in 2016! This class is dedicated to having some musical fun and gaining some extra musical experience during the summer. All traditional big band styles will be explored including swing, Latin, rock, and pop. Camp is for students entering grades 7-12 in fall with one or more years experience. Joe Ingram has taught music for 35 years, the majority of them as band director at Shasta Middle School.
